Travel // First Days, First Adventures

"Bop's Your Uncle"

So the first day, the first proper day, we had was Thursday. We decided to take Things slow and just get used to our new surroundings. We basically just went around the neighborhood and to the "Scarborough Bluffs".
H. and I both took our headphones with us and really just sat on a bench and enjoyed the view.

We also had another trip to the grocery store, where we took our time to admire all the things that we don't get in Germany. There are so many Brands and names that you won't see in Europe. The Price as well as the size of Things are very different as well. Overall, I came to the conclusion, that my Brothers are gonna kill me, if I don't send them a package with some of the Canadian Sweets. Hold on you guys! Don't rip my head off!
The next day, we went to the mall. Now, I love to read English books and I even think about opening up a section about that on this blog, so I was in heaven, when I entered a bookstore in the mall. Back in Germany, we don't have that many English books as in Canada, which...makes sense...
But the books were expensive! Like in Germany, we would pay 10 Euro tops, but the books in the store were much more expensive. We sadly can't buy any stuff, because of our Work and Travel plans. We're basically very limited in our luggage and their weight.
Later that night, we went to the favourite Restaurant of H.'s Dad, which is "Fredericks".
So it is a small Chinese restaurant and it may not look like much, but the Food! It was so amazing and soon after we were seated, the place was crowded! Like no tables available. And all of the workers were so sweet. They have a great selection and basically anything, you could ask for.

If you are ever there, please try the green beans.

Saturday was a day of planning. We talked about what we were going to do in Toronto when we get back from the North. Now we have a whole list of Things we want to do and see and be all Tourist about. The next Thing we did was go to the beach. It was still very warm and we were to use the last Weekend of summer.
The beach was in "Cobourg", which was a drive of 45 Minutes away. Now when I say beach, you probably think about which sea did we go to.
No sea.
It is a lake.
it is the lake Ontario.
And it's huge. Like, you can't and won't ever see the other side of the Point where you are standing.
Even though it was very crowded and there was no shade whatsoever, the water was amazing and it felt good, to have another proper summer day. Now it is actually a bit weird to think, that I had a better summer day in Canada, than I had this year back in Germany...

And today, we got up early to pack our stuff again, so that we could get to our next part of our Canada trip. We went up North to stay with one of H.'s uncles for some days. The drive took about 4 hours, which is long, but the view... i can honestly say, that seeing this countryside of Canada was one of the most beautiful things, I ever saw.
At the house, we have the possibility to use a canoe or a Kayak to paddle on the lake and we still have some warm days ahead of us, so it's gonna be exciting.

So that is all I have for the last days and the near plans.

With best regards,

Alice
